Qualification
- Proven experience in sourcing and supply chain management, particularly in produce and perishables.
- Strong leadership skills with experience managing teams and developing talent.
- Ability to analyze market trends and develop strategic sourcing initiatives.
- Experience in supplier relationship management and performance improvement.
- Knowledge of food safety standards and compliance requirements.
Responsibility
- Directly manage, develop, and inspire a high-performing team of sourcing/category managers and specialists for produce and perishables.
- Set clear priorities and expectations, guide professional development, and foster a collaborative team culture.
- Leverage the expertise of Sweetgreen’s Supply Chain team for category planning and process optimization.
- Cultivate a strong network of supplier partners to drive results in safety, service, cost, quality, and growth.
- Serve as the business owner for produce and perishables, leading the complete sourcing lifecycle.
- Apply Sweetgreen’s Six Steps of Sourcing process to all category initiatives.
- Lead comprehensive spend and market analysis, risk assessment, and multi-year strategy development.
- Build and nurture robust supplier partnerships and lead joint business planning.
