Continuity Clinician - Medical Doctor

Virta Health is seeking a Continuity Clinician (Medical Doctor) to deliver remote, diabetes reversal and weight-management care via telemedicine. Board-certified internal medicine, family medicine, or endocrinology physicians will provide patient care through Virta's clinician-led, technology-enabled platform, collaborating with health coaches and endocrinology colleagues to improve outcomes.
Qualification
- Unrestricted medical license (MD or DO).
- Willingness and ability to obtain additional state licenses; multiple state licenses helpful.
- Board certification in Internal Medicine, Family Medicine, or Endocrinology (preferred).
- Experience and competence in diabetes management.
- Outstanding bedside manner and patient service orientation.
- Excellent organizational skills.
- Deep interest in Virta’s nutritional approach to diabetes reversal.
- Telemedicine experience preferred.
- Growth mindset and flexibility to work in a rapidly growing company.
- Ability to supervise NP team members.
Responsibility
- Provide the highest quality patient-centered care through a remote, secure telemedicine platform.
- Manage a panel of patients through continuous remote care, collaborating with health coaches and the endocrinology team.
- Proactively follow up on patient concerns and ensure timely communication and documentation.
- Share after-hours coverage with the team, rotating to approximately 1 in 8 weeks of on-call responsibility.
- Actively participate in the development of new technology, protocols, and care pathways to improve patient outcomes.
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team of engineers, designers, and health coaches to optimize care delivery.
- Supervise NP team members and contribute to ongoing quality improvement and clinical governance.
- Maintain unrestricted medical licensure and pursue additional state licenses as needed (IMLC state desirability).
