Smuggler

  • We're building category-defining fintech for an industry that's been underserved by technology - entertainment and production finance.
  • You'll have a direct line to executive leadership and meaningful influence over company strategy.
  • We're at the stage where your work will shape how we operate for years to come - not just maintaining processes, but building them.
  • Own financial planning and modeling: Build and maintain the company's financial models, including annual planning, quarterly forecasts, scenario analysis, and business case development for new initiatives.
  • Drive resource allocation decisions: Develop frameworks that help leadership evaluate trade-offs across investments, headcount, and strategic bets.
  • Evaluate unit economics: Analyze the economics of established and emerging business lines, applying SaaS and payments metrics (LTV, CAC, gross margin, net revenue retention) to inform investment decisions.
  • Build cross-functional partnerships: Embed with product, engineering, sales, and operations teams to deeply understand the business and surface insights that wouldn't emerge from the finance team alone.
  • Establish reporting and analytics infrastructure: Design function-specific dashboards and reporting cadences that give executives the data they need to make faster, better decisions.
  • Lead strategic projects: Examples include automating board reporting, building pricing models for new products, or standing up a financial planning tool - you'll identify high-leverage opportunities and run with them.
  • 8+ years of experience in strategic finance, FP&A, corporate finance, or investment banking.
  • Strong financial modeling chops - you're fluent in Excel/Google Sheets and comfortable with SQL.
  • Experience partnering with and influencing cross-functional leaders (product, engineering, sales) - not just presenting to them, but co-developing strategy.
  • A track record of building forecasts, scenarios, and business cases that actually drove decisions.
  • Comfort with ambiguity - you don't need a playbook to figure out the right analysis to run.
  • Prior experience in fintech, payments, or SaaS - particularly with revenue models and transaction-based economics.
  • Experience standing up FP&A or strategic finance processes from scratch at a high-growth company.
  • Familiarity with entertainment, media, or production finance verticals.
  • Experience with BI tools (Omni, Tableau, Mode) or financial planning platforms (Anaplan, Aleph, Adaptive).
  • Bachelor's degree in finance, economics, engineering, or a related field.
