The Ski & Snowboard School Marketing Manager is responsible for building and executing marketing strategies aimed at driving increase in share of wallet through growth of capture and guest retention in the school, Race Department, Camp Aspen Snowmass and the Snowmass Bike School (S3). The ideal candidate will have a strong demand generation background with proven expertise in working cross-functionally to build integrated marketing programs across different channels. This position is accountable for KPIs and revenue targets that align directly to the Ski & Snowboard School and company goals.
The budgeted salary midpoint for this position is $65,685. Actual pay will be dependent on budget and experience, all our salaried roles are eligible for bonus.
Please note: This position is not remote. This position is on site in Aspen.
Essential Job Functions
- Translate Ski & Snowboard School, Race Department and summer business units’ (S3) objectives into marketing strategy and campaign plans by working closely with S3 leadership and marketing teams
- Deep understanding of the guest journey as it relates to first-time and repeat purchases, not only in S3, but resort-wide.
- Deep understanding of S3 product mix and how it relates to overall company strategy
- Season-long (summer and winter) product analysis in conjunction with S3 ops team and finance to adjust marketing tactics throughout the season
- Design integrated marketing programs at scale including email marketing, paid media, website optimization, content, blog, and editorial inclusion and additional tactics as needed
- Comprehensive competitive analysis of pricing, marketing and guest purchasing processes of all S3 winter and summer products
- Set KPIs and revenue targets for S3 marketing and align with S3 goals and digital/marketing team goals and KPIs
- Leverage and analyze marketing database in order to set effective strategies and target audiences accordingly
- Develop and lead execution of marketing and product launch strategy for S3, working directly with the appropriate stakeholders on strategies and tactics, understanding priorities based on revenue and capture targets
- Coordinate initiatives leveraging our network of partners in our business verticals within and across ski, hospitality and ASPENX
- Coordinate design and production of all S3 branded material, including, but not limited to signage and guest facing collateral
- Execute marketing needs of the Talent Acquisition Team to support S3 hiring initiatives
- Media planning with the Digital Marketing Team and in-house trafficking of print and digital ad campaigns for S3, including analyzing results with Digital Marketing & Analytics Manager and ongoing optimization
- Coordinate digital marketing efforts with the team accordingly, creating, optimizing and updating email and web assets and tactics as needed
- Coordinate creative asset needs with creative and content teams
- Actively engage with S3 leadership, Pros and guests on and off hill, maintaining a leadership presence within the School
- Manage S3 marketing budgets in conjunction with the S3 Finance and Revenue Manager
- Other duties as assigned or proposed
- Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing or related field required
- 5+ years of experience in the field of marketing preferred
- Experience working with Microsoft Office – Word, PowerPoint, Excel required
- Proofing/copywriting experience required
- Knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite preferred
- Content Management System experience preferred
- Vendor management experience preferred
- Budget management experience preferred
- High-end resort experience preferred
- Experience working in Google Analytics preferred
- Basic understanding of SEO best practices preferred
- Ability to ski/ride at an intermediate level, or willingness to learn
Supervision Given & Received
Supervision given: This position has no supervisory responsibilities.
Supervision received: Works under general supervision of Managing Directors of the Ski & Snowboard School and Marketing. Receives continuing or individual assignments according to supervisor’s directions and may perform routine tasks. Expectations of the quality, quantity and deadlines are clearly set. Instructions, advice and assistance available as needed. Work is reviewed on demand or during scheduled check-ins.
Work Environment & Physical Demands
- Ability to stand, type and sit at desk/computer for most of the work shift executing repetitive movements
- No adverse or hazardous conditions
- Not required, but preferred to be able to occasionally lift, push or pull 25 lbs. individually or with assistance (weight limits can vary according to position, but no more than 50)
