Senior Data Scientist role in Airwallex's Strategic Data Science team, focused on ANZ operations. Based in Singapore, the role partners with Sales, Marketing, Finance, Data Engineering, and Product to define metrics and data sources, applies AI and advanced statistics to generate insights, supports forecasting, and builds data products (MVPs or fully developed solutions) while fostering technical excellence and clear communication.
Qualification
- 5+ years of experience in data science/analytics (fintech or scale-up environments preferred).
- Strong statistical and forecasting/time-series modeling capabilities.
- Proficiency in SQL and Python for data analysis and modeling.
- Experience building data products or analytics platforms (including MVPs).
- Proven ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams (Sales, Marketing, Finance, Data Engineering, Product) and translate business questions into data solutions.
- Experience applying AI/ML techniques to generate insights and improve efficiency.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder-management skills; ability to present complex insights to non-technical audiences.
- Bachelor's/Master's/PhD in a quantitative field (e.g., Data Science, Statistics, Computer Science, Engineering).
Responsibility
- Be the go-to data partner for the Head of ANZ.
- Partner with Sales, Marketing, Finance, Data Engineering, and Product to align metric definitions/dimensions and data sources across the business.
- Leverage AI to generate insights and improve business and team efficiency.
- Support Airwallex’s forecasting efforts by applying advanced statistical methods.
- Scope and build data products, in some cases MVPs and in others fully fleshed out solutions.
- Foster an environment grounded in technical excellence, clear communication, and proactive critical thinking.
