Senior Manager, Financial Partnerships, Local Payment Providers at Airwallex. Lead and scale Airwallex's Local Payment Methods (LPMs) across EMEA, the US, and LATAM by building and managing strategic partnerships with banks, PSPs, and financial institutions to enable a global payments platform and embedded finance solutions.

Qualification

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, or a related field; MBA or advanced degree preferred.
  • 8+ years of experience in payments, financial services, partnerships, or business development, with direct exposure to Local Payment Methods, PSPs, or Payment Institutions.
  • Proven track record building and scaling global financial partnerships and expanding partner ecosystems across multiple regions (EMEA, US, LATAM).
  • Deep knowledge of LPMs, payment rails, and regulatory/compliance considerations in multiple geographies.
  • Strong negotiation, contract management, and vendor-management skills; ability to close complex deals.
  • Excellent cross-functional collaboration skills with product, engineering, risk/compliance, legal, and operations.
  • Data-driven with experience defining and tracking KPIs, business metrics, and revenue models; capable of building business cases.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills; comfortable operating in a fast-paced, high-growth environment and traveling as needed.

Responsibility

  • Own and execute the strategy to expand Local Payment Methods (LPMs) across EMEA, the US, and LATAM, including partner onboarding and ecosystem development.
  • Build, negotiate, and manage strategic partnerships with banks, payment service providers, and financial institutions; lead due diligence, commercial negotiations, and ongoing performance management.
  • Define and drive the partnerships roadmap aligned with Airwallex product offerings (payments, treasury, embedded finance) and regional revenue targets.
  • Collaborate with product, engineering, risk/compliance, and legal to implement LPM integrations, API connections, and governance controls.
  • Develop governance frameworks, contract templates, SLAs, and risk controls; manage regulatory/compliance considerations across geographies.
  • Monitor and report KPIs for partnerships (activation, volume, revenue impact, partner performance); build forecasts and resource plans.
  • Lead cross-functional go-to-market and partner enablement programs; support regional expansion and partner onboarding processes.
  • Mentor and influence cross-functional teams and regional stakeholders; manage budgets, vendor relationships, and external representation.
  • Represent Airwallex in external partnerships events and forums to attract new LPM opportunities and strengthen the ecosystem.
