The Director of Cost Estimation will play a crucial role in leading the design-for-manufacturing and cost estimation functions, ensuring efficient production processes and profitability.
Qualification
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering
- 10+ years overall experience, including 5 years directly leading teams
- 3 years of experience in cost estimation or related field
- Strong understanding of manufacturing processes and design-for-manufacturing principles
- Proven track record of building and leading technical teams
Responsibility
- Own design-for-manufacturing analysis (DFM) and recommendations for new and existing customers
- Own DFM engineering, profitability, adherence, and time-to-quote goals
- Build a cost estimation function that scales with business growth
- Own bid analysis, pricing, and risk estimate recommendations
- Generate and drive new capabilities roadmap, including materials and factory capabilities
- Drive strong feedback loops with factory operations, sales, supply chain, and customer success teams
