The role involves technical guidance, collaboration across disciplines, and ensuring compliance with relevant standards.
Qualification
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related field
- Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred
- Experience in hydraulic and stormwater management design
- Knowledge of NCDOT and FHWA standards
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication and collaboration abilities
- Ability to mentor and lead junior engineers
Responsibility
- Lead and mentor junior staff members, fostering technical growth and professional development
- Oversee hydrology and hydraulic analysis for the design and construction of transportation projects
- Review and approve stormwater management system and pond designs
- Manage hydraulic culvert/bridge design and permitting processes
- Provide strategic direction on erosion and sediment pollution control designs
- Ensure quality control and compliance with NCDOT standards and FHWA Hydraulic Design Manual
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams on project deliverables
