They are seeking a Composite Technician to work on the design and integration of unmanned aircraft systems in Morrisville, NC. The role involves working with composite materials and ensuring precise assembly and curing processes.
Qualification
- Experience with composite materials and their properties.
- Ability to work with various types of processing and curing equipment.
- Attention to detail and precision in assembly and fitting.
- Knowledge of bonding characteristics of materials and adhesives.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering specifications and drawings.
Responsibility
- Cut, lay-up, fabricate, cure and assemble various types of composite products and assemblies.
- Exercise knowledge of the physical properties of materials such as thermosets, thermoplastics, and composites.
- Locate critical reference points and ensure coordination of parts and subassemblies to exacting tolerances.
- Build laminated assemblies by determining proper placement and laying up composite plies and adhesives.
- Prepare parts for bagging, including placement of bleeders, thermocouples, probes, and vacuum connections.
- Set up assemblies and parts in processing and curing equipment such as autoclaves or ovens.
- Operate oven controls to maintain proper temperature, pressure, and time cycle according to specifications.
