The AoPS Academy Virtual Campus is seeking a part-time Virtual Math Instructor to teach high-achieving students in an online environment. The role involves engaging students in critical thinking and problem-solving while fostering a collaborative classroom atmosphere. Classes are scheduled during late afternoons to evenings on weekdays and all day on Sundays.
Qualification
- Must have a solid academic background in mathematics.
- Strong math content knowledge is essential.
- Experience in teaching or tutoring math at elementary, middle, or high school levels.
- Comfortable teaching in a live virtual classroom environment.
- Ability to engage and motivate gifted learners.
Responsibility
- Teach enthusiastic elementary, middle, and high school students in online classrooms.
- Use curriculum to conduct participation-oriented classes focusing on skill development rather than rote memorization.
- Work in small classes (average size 12) with motivated students who are passionate about learning.
- Encourage student-led instruction and discussions, allowing students to take an active role in their learning.
- Foster a classroom environment that promotes critical thinking and problem-solving.
