Qualification

  • Bachelor degree in a relevant field (minimum).
  • Minimum 8+ years of related professional experience.
  • Current Architectural Registration in the United States (required).
  • Ability to lead design and coordination across multi-disciplinary teams.
  • Strong communication skills to convey design intent and project status to clients and consultants.
  • Experience performing field site observations and on-site visits.
  • Knowledge of performance-based design strategies and sustainable design integration.
  • Experience applying design processes and methodologies (e.g., CannonDesign Method) with appropriate tools and templates.
  • Ability to mentor interns and less experienced team members.
  • Capacity to contribute to business development efforts and collaborate with Marketing and Office Leadership.

Responsibility

  • Lead elements of design, production, coordination, and architectural detailing as part of a multi-disciplinary team.
  • Lead or assist in the coordination of engineering systems with engineers and consultants; partner with Design Leadership to carry through design intent; coordinate with all team members on project assignments and documents.
  • Prepare design sketches of moderate to complex site plans.
  • Communicate project status, design intent, construction updates, and other critical information to owners, consultants, and clients in a clear and compelling way.
  • Participate in Business Development activity and partner with Marketing and Office Leadership to help grow top line.
  • Perform field site observations; site visits frequently require a physical walk-through of site.
  • Facilitate integration of performance-based and sustainable design strategies into design solutions.
  • Participate in project teams by implementing the CannonDesign Method using process expectations, best practices, reference standards, tools, templates, and technology to achieve competitive advantage, superior service delivery and quality, and enhanced team productivity and profitability.
  • Create a stimulating environment that sets the tone for design and technical excellence.
  • Provoke critical thinking and critique of work; identify and share lessons learned with teams.
  • May provide guidance to interns and mentor less experienced team members.
  • Contribute to the technical quality of projects by enforcing QA/QC process standards and requirements while ensuring all statutory requirements for the project are achieved.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
