Cannondesign
Intermediate-level Interior Designer III role on a multi-disciplinary design team. You will work with design and technical leadership, lead design development across all project phases, coordinate with architecture/engineering and consultants, mentor junior staff, participate in client meetings and marketing efforts, and ensure drawing standards are followed.
Qualification
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Interior Design, Interior Architecture, or a related field.
- Minimum of 6 years of related experience.
- Current NCIDQ certification is preferred.
- Strong ability to coordinate with architecture, engineering, and consultants; effective communication with clients.
- Proven experience in developing interior space designs and producing construction documents.
- Materials selection and vendor coordination experience.
- Knowledge of building codes and standards and ability to ensure compliance.
- Experience with project planning, budgeting, and scheduling; ability to lead meetings and presentations.
- Mentoring or supervising less experienced interior design staff.
Responsibility
- Lead the development of project goals through Programming, Schematic Design, Design Development, Construction Documents, and Construction Administration under the guidance of a Senior Interior Designer.
- Evaluate client needs; document design objectives and spatial requirements.
- Research, evaluate, and coordinate furniture, fixtures, and equipment (FFE) throughout all phases; coordinate with vendors.
- Coordinate design work, standards, and code compliance within the team; collaborate with architecture, engineering and consultants.
- Develop interior space designs including floor plans, pattern designs, elevations, details, and finishes.
- Independently evaluate and select materials; consult with vendors.
- Produce drawings in conformance with project time, budget, and quality constraints.
- Assist in project planning and budgeting; assist and/or lead client meetings; mentor and supervise less experienced staff.
- Follow CannonDesign drawing standards; participate in construction administration activities (site visits, submittals, shop drawings, punch lists) and conduct site walks as needed.
- Promote design leadership within the practice and assist in marketing campaigns as requested.
