Chewy is seeking a Data Engineer II to join their Data Platform team within the Marketing Sciences Organization. This role focuses on building data ecosystems to enhance customer engagement through data-driven insights. The position involves designing and improving analytics platforms, collaborating with various teams, and utilizing big data technologies.
Qualification
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field or 3+ years relevant experience
- Current permanent U.S. work authorization
- Expert level skills in writing and optimizing complex SQL
- Knowledge of data warehousing concepts
- Experience in data mining, profiling, and analysis
- Experience with complex data modeling, ETL design, and large databases
- Proficiency with Linux command line and systems administration
- Experience with programming languages like Python, Ruby, or Java
- Experience with Big Data technologies such as Hive/Spark
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Responsibility
- Design, implement, and improve the analytics platform
- Implement and simplify self-service data query and analysis capabilities of the BI platform
- Develop and improve the current BI architecture with a focus on data security, quality, scalability, and extensibility
- Deploy and utilize big data technologies to design low latency data architectures
- Collaborate with business analysts, data scientists, and product managers to develop and validate KPIs and machine learning algorithms
- Partner with other BI teams to enhance the discovery experience
