Chewy is seeking a full-time Veterinary Assistant to join their Healthcare Practice Team, which is focused on providing high-quality veterinary care in a supportive and collaborative environment. The role involves assisting veterinarians, implementing policies, and ensuring excellent client communication while utilizing advanced technology in a newly established veterinary practice.
Qualification
- Experience as a veterinary assistant or in a similar role.
- Knowledge of veterinary medical terminology and procedures.
- Ability to handle animals and perform veterinary assistant skills safely and effectively.
- Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
- Familiarity with using technology and integrated systems in a veterinary practice.
Responsibility
- Support the practice team by providing high-level veterinary support care and embodying the Chewy Vet Care culture.
- Implement outlined policies and procedures, using integrated technology to deliver consistent medical care.
- Assist veterinarians with operating medical equipment and handling animal bodily fluids and tissues.
- Demonstrate team support and care for others’ work experiences.
- Follow the practice’s Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and Standards of Care (SOC).
- Review invoices with clients and handle client payments.
- Communicate clearly and respectfully with Team Members, keeping veterinarians informed on patient updates.
- Be proficient using the Practice Information Management System (PIMS) and assist others in its use.
