Datadog is seeking an experienced Strategic Account Executive (SLED) to drive revenue and growth in State, Local, and Education accounts. This hybrid role focuses on selling Datadog's SaaS platform to public sector customers, managing the full sales cycle from prospecting to close and negotiating ROI-based value with large SLED enterprises.

Qualification

  • 5+ years of closing experience (field selling within an assigned SLED region).
  • 2-3+ years of SLED/Gov sales experience.
  • Proven track record of meeting or exceeding direct sales goals of $1M+ with an average deal size of $100k+.
  • Ability to prospect and build a pipeline independently.
  • Experience in a tech company (SaaS, IT infrastructure, or similar) is preferred.
  • Experience selling into large SLED organizations with the ability to win.

Responsibility

  • Prospect into large State, Local, and Education organizations while running an efficient sales process.
  • Maintain, build, and own territory relationship maps, including existing relationships and aspirational contacts.
  • Develop a deep understanding of the customer's business and value drivers.
  • Negotiate favorable pricing and terms with large SLED enterprises by selling value and ROI.
  • Handle existing customer expectations while expanding reach and depth in the territory.
  • Demonstrate resourcefulness when faced with challenges that defy easy solutions.
  • Have an intuitive sense of the steps needed to close deals and gain customer validation.
  • Ensure high forecasting accuracy and consistency.
  • Identify robust value drivers behind opportunities.
