They are seeking a Head of Legal to manage all legal functions, particularly in relation to their AI-powered products and technology platform. This role involves commercial negotiations, legal risk management, compliance, and shaping business strategy.
Qualification
- 8+ years of commercial legal experience in technology companies and complex B2B contracts.
- Deep expertise in copyright law and experience with AI/ML contexts.
- Proven track record in legal negotiations with enterprise customers.
- Experience with AI model licensing and data usage rights.
- Strong understanding of corporate law, fundraising, and employment law.
- Ability to provide legal counsel on highly technical products.
- Strong business acumen to balance legal risk with business objectives.
- JD from a top-tier law school and bar admission.
Responsibility
- Lead commercial negotiations and manage customer legal calls and contract negotiations.
- Assess and mitigate legal risks related to AI models and data usage.
- Handle legal aspects of fundraising, M&A, and corporate transactions.
- Manage employee agreements, equity compensation, and compliance with employment law.
- Provide legal guidance on product positioning and business strategies.
- Establish legal processes and manage junior legal staff as needed.
- Advise on intellectual property matters including copyright and patents.
- Ensure compliance with evolving AI regulations and data privacy laws.
