Software Engineer, Network & Protocol Team (Remote)
hoplynk
Hoplynk is a pre-seed startup focused on developing a robust communications and networking layer for autonomous systems. The Software Engineer role involves designing and implementing a multipath networking stack on Linux, with responsibilities spanning from kernel to telemetry and field support.
Qualification
- Solid Linux networking experience at L3/L4 with iproute2/netlink/tc.
- Experience improving latency, reliability, or throughput via shaping and queue management.
- Comfort with transports and routing protocols like TCP, QUIC, MPTCP, and MPLS.
- Experience building network telemetry with stable data models.
- Ability to design experiments and simulate real conditions.
Responsibility
- Design, implement, and evolve the multipath routing/transport stack on Linux.
- Define and maintain SLOs for latency, loss, failover time, and goodput.
- Build and operate telemetry for network performance metrics.
- Design and run experiments with simulated networks in QEMU.
- Support deployments and onboarding by capturing traces and triaging issues.
