The General Maintenance Technician at the Jackie Robinson Training Complex (JRTC) is responsible for ensuring the safe and functional operation of all buildings and systems. This hands-on role involves preventative maintenance, general repairs, and timely responses to facility issues, ensuring compliance with safety standards for daily operations and events.
Qualification
- Proven experience as a maintenance technician or similar role
- Knowledge of HVAC systems and general repair techniques
- Familiarity with plumbing, electrical, and carpentry work
- Ability to operate hand and power tools safely and effectively
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Good communication skills and ability to follow instructions
- Physical stamina and ability to lift heavy objects
Responsibility
- Inspect buildings, equipment, and systems for functionality and safety
- Assist with installation, maintenance, and repair of HVAC systems
- Conduct routine quality checks and preventative maintenance
- Perform general maintenance tasks including plumbing, carpentry, painting, and minor electrical repairs
- Address structural issues such as door, window, or wall repairs
- Troubleshoot and repair plumbing issues including leaks or clogs
- Respond to electrical issues including damaged or exposed wiring
- Operate hand tools and power tools including drills, saws, planers, routers, and sanders
