Major League Baseball is looking for a Senior Accountant to join their General Accounting team. The role involves account reconciliations, month-end general ledger close, and bank reconciliations, along with preparation of journal entries and financial analysis. Qualification
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting (CPA Preferred)
- Minimum 5 years of relevant accounting experience
- Strong understanding of GAAP and internal control framework
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (e.g., VLOOKUP, pivot tables, formulas)
- Able to work effectively under pressure from management deadlines
- Able to pivot between competing priorities
- Experience with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle)
- Strong analytical skills and detail oriented
- Effective communication skills and ability to work well in a team-oriented environment
Responsibility
- Analyze and reconcile general ledger accounts to ensure accuracy and compliance with internal controls and GAAP
- Prepare monthly journal entries, accruals, and account reconciliations
- Perform monthly bank reconciliations and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner
- Manage and maintain fixed assets records, including additions, disposals, and depreciation schedules
- Assist with month-end and year-end close processes
- Support external audits by providing necessary documentation and analysis
- Continuously improve processes for efficiency, accuracy, and automation
- Collaborate cross-functionally with other departments to ensure financial accuracy and alignment
