Engineering Manager - Growth at Nextdoor leads the Traffic team to drive organic growth by improving discovery and engagement across SEO, content sharing, and invites. You'll mentor a small, high-performing engineering group, collaborate cross-functionally with Product, Data Science, and Marketing, and scale growth-focused surfaces to acquire users at a large scale in a hybrid, full-time role.
Qualification
- Proven experience as an Engineering Manager or senior technical leader with strong mentorship experience, or an Engineering Manager with up to 3 years of leadership experience.
- Experience leading growth-focused initiatives and driving user acquisition at scale.
- Ability to partner effectively with Product, Marketing, and Data Science to deliver data-informed growth features.
- Background in building scalable, high-performance full-stack systems and optimizing for throughput and reliability.
- Experience guiding the product development lifecycle from strategy through launch, including prototyping and QA.
- Track record of owning and communicating operational metrics and using data to drive decisions.
- Experience in hiring and developing engineering talent and building high-performing teams.
Responsibility
- Lead and develop a small team of engineers focused on organic traffic growth.
- Partner with Product, Marketing, and Data Science to build engaging, traffic-driving features (SEO, content sharing, invites) and measure their impact using data insights.
- Oversee the development of scalable and reliable full-stack technologies with a performance focus that drives millions of interactions each week.
- Involve yourself in all stages of the product development lifecycle for a major product area—from strategy and research to prototyping, interaction design, QA, and final launch tweaks.
- Own and drive the operational metrics of the Traffic team to monitor growth impact and efficiency.
- Participate in hiring outstanding talent and develop the engineering resources across the organization.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with partners to inform growth strategy and user acquisition at scale.
