Redwood Materials is seeking a Staff Controls Engineer to design, build, and debug advanced control systems for battery recycling operations. This role is critical in supporting the company's mission to localize the battery supply chain and drive energy transition. The position is fully onsite in Reno, NV.
Qualification
- Proven experience in controls engineering, particularly in industrial automation and chemical processes.
- Strong knowledge of PLC programming and SCADA systems.
- Experience with DCS and HMI systems.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Responsibility
- Design and implement controls software for cathode production equipment, including PLCs, HMIs, SCADA systems, and distributed control systems (DCS).
- Program, test, and debug automation sequences and interlocks to ensure safe and efficient operation of chemical process units.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to optimize control systems and processes.
- Support the commissioning and scaling of recycling facilities.
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to control systems and automation.
