SpaceX is seeking a Fulfillment Buyer to join their progressive procurement organization, which aims to innovate traditional procurement methods. The role involves managing purchases across various commodities and stakeholders, ensuring timely and accurate order processing, and enhancing supplier relationships to meet company objectives.
Qualification
- Bachelor's degree; or 4+ years of professional experience working in a supply chain, production, or engineering function in lieu of a degree
- Purchasing experience, specifically related to capital equipment or indirect buying
- Remarkable problem-solving skills with a bias for speed
- Ability to learn quickly and prioritize appropriately to meet customer and company needs
- Excellent customer service skills
- Effective written, verbal and presentation communication skills
- Exceptional analytical and organizational skills
Responsibility
- Review purchase request and issue purchase orders in a timely manner without error
- Ensure purchase orders are acknowledged by suppliers
- Review quotes to ensure those are complete and align with SpaceX terms
- Obtain the original promise date from suppliers
- Review open order reports and manage deliveries
- Resolve invoice issues and ensure that vendors are paid on time
- Expedite parts as necessary
- Act as customer service for SpaceX internal customers
- Support buyers in cost savings initiatives
- Lead miscellaneous procurement projects
- Lead supplier onboarding process
