SpaceX is seeking an IT Systems Engineer to enhance its multi-site launch infrastructure, crucial for safe and reliable launch operations. The role involves optimizing automation, supporting IT systems, and integrating DevOps processes to advance SpaceX's mission of enabling human life on Mars.
Qualification
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, math, physics, information systems, or related field and 3+ years of systems engineering experience; OR 5+ years of systems engineering experience without a degree.
- Experience with virtualization or containerization technologies (e.g., VMware, Hyper-V, Docker).
- Strong understanding of Linux and Windows systems administration.
- Experience with network troubleshooting and monitoring tools.
- Familiarity with NIST cybersecurity frameworks and best practices.
- Ability to work in high-stress, time-sensitive situations during launches.
- Experience with scripting languages for automation and monitoring.
Responsibility
- Optimize and consolidate existing automation scripts and tooling for multiple launch vehicles.
- Provide advanced support for Linux and Windows administration and troubleshooting.
- Increase IT infrastructure maturity with a focus on NIST cybersecurity frameworks.
- Integrate DevOps tooling and processes to streamline launch support infrastructure.
- Collaborate with software and controls teams for standardized systems deployment.
- Provide real-time IT support during launch and test operations, troubleshooting issues.
- Enhance network monitoring capabilities with custom scripting and dashboards.
- Research and implement new virtualization, storage, and networking technologies.
- Maintain and enhance IT system CMDBs, procedures, and contingency plans.
- Support rapid infrastructure expansion with design guidance and project coordination.
