SpaceX is seeking a Sourcing Specialist for its Starlink project, aimed at providing global internet coverage. The role involves supporting the Redmond, WA production facility by executing supply chain strategies, managing procurement, and collaborating with engineering and manufacturing teams to ensure efficient production flow.
Qualification
- Experience in procurement and supply chain management
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to interpret engineering drawings and BOMs
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills
- Experience with vendor management and contract negotiation
- Familiarity with mechanical custom and COTS hardware sourcing
- Ability to work cross-functionally with engineering and manufacturing teams
- Experience in managing complex projects and vendor performance
Responsibility
- Place purchase orders and resolve blocked invoices related to assigned category
- Forecast demand, evaluate capacity, and manage supply signals to adjust incoming material
- Track high risk components and supplier delivery performance
- Communicate clearly and rapidly to influence decisions of vendors and senior leadership
- Interpret engineering drawings and BOMs
- Create sourcing strategies for all mechanical custom and COTS hardware
- Develop a preferred supplier network and leverage it to minimize cost and lead time for the fabrication and delivery of parts
- Manage outsource fabrication projects including planning, coordinating with stakeholders, estimating completion, and managing vendor performance
- Perform onsite reviews of vendor capabilities
- Responsible for authoring of contract documents with the legal department
