The Yield Engineer at Akoustis, a subsidiary of SpaceX, is responsible for monitoring and improving the yield of semiconductor fabrication processes for RF filters. The role involves analyzing data, implementing statistical process controls, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to enhance manufacturing quality and efficiency. This position plays a crucial role in supporting the mission of connecting the world through Starlink and enabling human life on Mars.
Qualification
- Experience in semiconductor fabrication processes and yield improvement techniques.
- Strong understanding of RF test methodologies and S-parameters.
- Proficiency in statistical analysis and process control methodologies.
- Experience with structured problem-solving tools and data analysis methods.
- Ability to work collaboratively in cross-functional teams and lead improvement projects.
Responsibility
- Monitor, analyze, and report on fab yields and RF test results to identify trends and catch anomalies.
- Understand S-parameters, RF test and wafer probing.
- Develop, implement, and maintain Statistical Process Control (SPC) systems, process capability (Cpk) analysis, and other statistical tools.
- Apply structured problem solving tools such as 8D, PFMEA, DOE, and multivariate analysis to resolve excursions and optimize yield performance.
- Lead and own improvement projects that drive FAB yield and performance.
- Collaborate in cross-functional teams across various operations including process, device, product, quality & reliability, software, and design engineers.
- Develop and own automated yield dashboards, pareto charts, and SPC tracking systems for continuous monitoring.
- Create, maintain, and improve Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and engineering documentation.
