Wander is seeking a Product Manager to oversee the Payments stack within their innovative travel platform, focusing on payment acceptance, financial accuracy, and partner payouts. The role involves collaboration with Finance for reconciliation and audit processes, as well as optimizing user experience and reducing costs and risks associated with payments.
Qualification
- 5+ years of experience as a Product Manager, with at least 3 years focused on payments or fintech.
- Hands-on software engineering experience or experience founding a company with a focus on building products from 0 to 1.
- Fluency in the card lifecycle, decline codes, tokenization, and fraud/risk management.
- Experience with refunds, credits, split payments, and reconciliation processes.
- Ability to collaborate with Finance on revenue recognition and audit controls, with strong communication skills for both technical and financial discussions.
- Quantitative skills with proficiency in SQL or similar for data analysis and experimentation.
- Strong bias to action, effective writing skills, and high agency.
Responsibility
- Own the payments & finops roadmap including acceptance, refunds, disputes, payouts, taxes, and financial data integrity.
- Partner with Finance on GL mapping, automated reconciliation, revenue recognition, and audit trails.
- Improve payment acceptance and customer experience by optimizing authorization rates and payment methods.
- Reduce costs and risks by monitoring fees, implementing fraud controls, and managing chargeback rates.
- Build compliant payout systems for partners with transparent statements and predictable funding timelines.
- Support B2B payment flows including invoices, deposits, and AR automation.
- Define and monitor KPIs related to payment processes and financial performance.
- Collaborate with Engineering & Data teams to ensure effective implementation and post-launch iteration.
