The Air Dominance & Strike (AD&S) Vehicle Software team is seeking a Mission Software Engineer to develop foundational software for autonomous robotics systems, including unmanned fighter jets. The role involves collaboration across engineering disciplines and requires expertise in C++ or Rust within a Linux environment.
Qualification
- Eligible to obtain and maintain an active U.S. Top Secret security clearance.
- BS, MS, or PhD in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, or related field.
- 3+ years of production-grade C++ and/or Rust experience in a Linux development environment.
- Experience building software solutions involving significant amounts of data processing and analysis.
- Ability to quickly understand and navigate complex systems and established code bases.
- Willingness to travel up to 30% of the time for real-world deployment.
Responsibility
- Develop software for vehicle control, networking, sensor integration, and telemetry.
- Collaborate with other engineering disciplines to create software solutions for autonomous systems.
- Build foundational vehicle software stack for various AD&S initiatives.
- Participate in early concept simulation, first flight, live operations, and fleet management.
- Analyze and process significant amounts of data for software solutions.
