Interior Designer III at CannonDesign, an intermediate-level role within a multi-disciplinary team. You will collaborate with design and technical leadership to lead interior design efforts through all project phases, coordinate with architecture/engineering teams, develop space plans and finishes, manage material and FF&E decisions, mentor junior staff, and contribute to client meetings and marketing efforts.
Qualification
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Interior Design, Interior Architecture, or a relevant field.
- Minimum of 6 years of related experience.
- Current NCIDQ certification is preferred.
- Design-focused with strong spatial planning and documentation skills.
- Experience leading interior design efforts across programming to construction administration and coordinating with other disciplines.
- Ability to mentor junior staff and lead client meetings.
Responsibility
- Lead development of project goals and design concepts through Programming, Schematic Design, Design Development, Construction Documents, and Construction Administration under the guidance of a Senior Interior Designer.
- Evaluate client needs and document design objectives and spatial requirements.
- Research, evaluate, and coordinate furniture, fixtures and equipment (FFE) across all phases.
- Coordinate design work, standards and code compliance within the team; collaborate with architecture, engineering and consultants.
- Develop interior space designs including floor plans, patterns, elevations, details, and finishes.
- Independently evaluate and select materials; consult with vendors.
- Produce drawings that meet project time, budget, and quality constraints.
- Assist in project planning and budgeting; participate in client meetings as requested.
- Mentor and supervise less experienced interior design staff; lead lessons learned sessions.
- Follow and maintain CannonDesign drawing standards.
- Participate in construction administration activities including site visits, submittal/shop drawing reviews, and punch lists; site visits may require on-site walkthroughs.
- Promote design leadership within the practice and assist in marketing campaigns as requested.
