As a foundational member of the Legal & Compliance team, the Legal Counsel will provide regulatory advice, negotiate partnerships, and assist in market expansion while ensuring compliance with legal standards.
Qualification
- J.D. or equivalent legal degree
- Experience in financial services regulation and compliance
- Strong negotiation skills and experience with partnerships
- Knowledge of intellectual property and data privacy laws
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
- Experience in emerging markets is a plus
- Ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams
Responsibility
- Provide regulatory advice on products and strategic partnerships
- Offer legal guidance on payments, financial services regulation, commercial contracts, intellectual property, and data privacy
- Structure new products and partnerships to ensure compliance and innovation
- Negotiate partnerships with banking partners and service providers
- Assist with license applications and regulatory partnerships in new markets
- Draft AML/CFT and other regulatory policies for different legal contexts
- Build relationships with regulators and implement legal frameworks across the Capi Money group
- Support corporate governance and employment legal matters
