Tandem is seeking a Strategic Legal Counsel to define and build its legal function, focusing on regulatory, commercial, and corporate risk. The role emphasizes high judgment and fast execution to align legal strategy with business growth. This position is in-person in New York and offers significant autonomy and responsibility.
Qualification
- Proven experience in a legal role, preferably in a fast-paced or startup environment.
- Strong understanding of regulatory, commercial, and corporate law.
- Ability to manage multiple outside counsel relationships effectively.
- Demonstrated ability to build and operationalize legal workflows.
- High judgment, fast execution, and a deep curiosity about the business and legal landscape.
Responsibility
- Own and operationalize Tandem’s legal infrastructure, including contracting, compliance, regulatory posture, and corporate structure.
- Serve as the internal lead across a network of outside counsel, synthesizing input and driving high-confidence decisions.
- Build scalable legal workflows that support commercial velocity and cross-functional execution across provider, pharma, vendor, and data relationships.
- Stay ahead of regulatory developments and industry shifts, turning risk into opportunity where possible.
- Identify and help implement legal or structural changes that expand Tandem’s capabilities.
