The Vox Media Podcast Network is looking for a Senior Video Producer to lead multiplatform video production for a variety of podcasts. This role involves collaborating with show teams to create and launch video-first shows, editing longform and shortform content for platforms like YouTube and TikTok, and managing freelance contributors. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in digital video production and a strong understanding of visual storytelling.
Qualification
- 6–8+ years of experience in digital video production, particularly for social and streaming platforms.
- Proven ability to produce both longform and shortform video content, especially for talk-based formats.
- Strong editing expertise in Adobe Premiere; motion design skills in After Effects or similar tools are a plus.
- Experience managing freelancers or vendors with clear creative direction for timely delivery.
- Excellent editing and storytelling skills with a focus on visual content.
Responsibility
- Partner with podcast teams to develop and launch new video shows, providing creative consultation and execution support.
- Edit and produce longform video episodes for platforms like YouTube, ensuring strong pacing and high production value.
- Create platform-native shortform video content optimized for TikTok, Instagram Reels, and YouTube Shorts.
- Design and implement scalable visual elements such as motion graphics and captions that align with each show's tone.
- Manage and mentor freelance editors and designers, ensuring brand consistency and quality across deliverables.
- Write and edit scripts in collaboration with hosts/show teams.
- Collaborate with editorial, social, and audience development teams to meet performance goals and platform best practices.
- Stay current on visual and social trends to help shows reach their target audiences.
